Happy Baby Girl

10 1/2 months old

check out those 2 tiny teeth

Lex loves her big sis

Choo Choo!

This 'little' baby girl is by far the MOST laidback baby that I've had! She is sweeter than any of them too! Her favorite toys consist of squishy books, teething toys, her pink cell phone and colorful blocks. She loves to eat and loves to drink water from her sippy cup. None of the other kids have liked water but Lex loves water. She is eating 3rd foods by Gerber and her favorite foods are apples, chicken and sweet potatoes. She has started eating a few solids such as Ritz crackers, cheerio's and small pieces of bread. She loves cold yogurt, Wendy's frosty's and baby goldfish too. She stares us down when we are eating and sometimes will even whine and cry until we give her a bite :-)

She is still not crawling but we are making progress! She used to hate lying on her stomach but she has learned to play while on her stomach and she can rotate on the floor in a full 180 circle to reach toys. She can hold herself up when holding onto something and she can also ride the choo choo train (with the help of mommy or daddy). Allie and Hunter were both walking by the time they were 10 1/2 months old! I guess since she is the 3rd and the 'baby' she is taking her time. I am not pushing her to do anything and I think that is one of the reasons the other two did walk early.

When asked what the tiger says she will say "Roarrrrr" and she loves to read touch and feel books. She loves to dance to music and clap her chubby little hands! She is still sleeping in the crib in the master bedroom but will hopefully transition to Allie's room next month.

I Passed the Class!

Final project

those roses took about 20 minutes total to make!

I just finished the four week Wilton cake decorating classes at Hobby Lobby! I "passed" (everyone passes as long as you do not miss a class haha) and I learned a lot of new techniques for decorating, icing, making borders and flowers. Cake decorating is definetly not easy! I went into the class never having made my own icing (I had always used store bought icing in a can) and now I learned that the only way to successfully ice a cake is with homemade buttercream icing. I am going to attempt to make Allie's birthday cake in a few weeks-it is a huge butterfly.

Inspiration For Girl's Bedroom Makeover

Alexis Grace is going to be moving into Allie's bedroom in a few months so I have been busy brainstorming idea's to update the bedroom. There are 3 things I am focusing on: bright colors, making the most of every space and plenty of storage! With two children sharing one bedroom storage is bound to become an issue at some point. The bedroom has a small closet and one dresser currently in the bedroom. Allie's clothes take up most of the dresser drawers but I have been able to move things around to allow for one dresser drawer to be devotated to Alexis' clothes. Clint added three shelves to the closet for shoes and I purchased a 'shoe organizer' to hang on the inside of the closet door to provide for easily accessible space for Allie's socks, underwear and hairbows.

Some adorable girl's bedroom designs that I love include the following:
Pottery Barn Kids

love the above bed canopies
would love this bookcase for the bedroom

Currently the GIRL'S ROOM has the following pieces:

Pottery Barn Kids Island Comforter and sheets

Pottery Barn Kids Madison Chandelier and pink shades
set of 2 twin sized white wicker headboards
PBK Toy Bucket
PBK Pink Chair

We will be moving Alexis' crib to Allie's bedroom in May. We are hoping that all of the furniture will fit and still allow for room to play. Allie is really excited to share her room with Alexis. I am hoping to get creative and paint some wooden letters to spell out both of their names to hang on the wall above their beds. Any ideas? Leave me a comment below :-)
